California Volunteers, Office of the Governor is calling on men across the state to lead through service. The California Men’s Service Challenge is a statewide effort to mobilize 10,000 men as mentors, coaches and volunteers — helping build purpose, belonging and opportunity through community engagement.

This initiative is part of Governor Newsom’s Executive Order to support young men and boys and was launched in September (Governor Newsom launches new statewide service effort to support the well-being of young men).

You can help us spread the word and inspire men to take the challenge.

California is calling on men to step up, lead and make a difference. The California Men’s Service Challenge is a statewide movement inviting men to serve as mentors, coaches, volunteers, and more — helping men build confidence, purpose and community.

This is leadership in action. Every hour spent mentoring, coaching or volunteering strengthens both the men who serve and the communities they stand with.
